10th June 2010

Tekmar Subsea have been awarded a mulit million pound project for the supply of a Multi Purpose Handling System. (MPHS) for Technip Norge AS.

This will be the sixth MPHS supplied by Tekmar Subsea to Technip.

This unit is rated to 60Te SWL and includes the supply of main lift winch, guide wire winches, hydraulic power units and remote control cabin integrally mounted on the structure of the MPHS.

As well as the MPHS, within Tekmar Subsea's scope of work includes all the deck skidding systems, pallets, rotary turntables and hydraulic push / pull units required for safe and controlled handling of subsea tools and equipment.

The system is designed as a mobile, flexible unit which will greatly increase intrinsic value of equipment as it is capable of being transferred between various Technip vessels depending on project requirements and timescales..

The system will be assembled and commissioned at Tekmar's heavy lift facility on Teesside. Installation of the MPHS is scheduled for Q4 2010.
