Subsea Cable Management System
25th May 2009

Tekmar unveil plans for innovative cable management system for floating wind farms. Following a client request Tekmar have created a model for a unique Subsea Cable Management System, designed specifically for floating wind farms.

The “Lazy Wave" assembly creates a mid water “s” profile with one arc being positive buoyancy and the other being negative.

Each buoyancy element can contain 2-off cables side by side, a total of 4-off cables can be arranged using two buoys strapped together. Given the benefits floating wind farms such as onshore fabrication and the ability to tow floating wind farms into the most productive areas of sea means that having the ability to manage and protect the cables carrying power is critical.
